The footprint at Savannah Quarters in Pooler continues to grow as officials broke ground Tuesday on a new apartment complex.
The Station at Savannah Quarters will feature 244 one-, two- and three-bedroom units across four floors. The project is being developed by Alabama-based Tynes Development.
“We really like this site. It’s 244 units and walkable to retail and we have a very nice product that we think people in Pooler will be very happy with,” said Ingram Tynes, president of Tynes Development.
The complex will also feature an elevator, granite countertops, spacious closets and walk-in showers. The site will also include a pool area, electric charging stations and a fitness center.
Tynes said his company had searched for a tract of land for a couple of years and after Publix announced its new location at Savannah Quarters they knew Pooler was where they wanted to be.
“When Publix committed to this area, it was the final thing that made it a great site (for us),” he said.
The first building, which will feature about 80 units, is expected to be completed by fall. Additional buildings and clubhouse space will be delivered in 2019. Tynes estimates that the entire development will be complete by May or June 2019.
Both Pooler Mayor Mike Lamb and Savannah Quarters sales manager Joe McNamara said the complex is a great fit for Pooler and they’re looking forward to the partnership with Tynes.
“This partnership with Tynes and being able to put these class-A apartments on this site really allows us to have a little bit of something for everybody here within Savannah Quarters,” McNamara said, adding that they believe the partnership with Tynes and the surrounding commercial developments will continue to create a welcoming lifestyle for residents.
“… A lot of that planning that has gone into this has led to what we believe is the right partnership to create a great atmosphere for future residents here within Savannah Quarters.”
